Leveling was done for two runways, one a half mile running north and south and the other a little over a half mile running northwest-to-southeast. With the completion of that work, the town planned to sow a special type of seed on the runways that would make a good, firm foundation for the landing of planes. Mark Dorhout, who has been middle school principal at H-M-S since 2004, has accepted a middle school science teaching position at the Panorama Community School District in Panora. Hartley smashed a determined Meriden sextet, 63-36, to advance to the district finals. The championship game was one of those contests where anything could happen, either good or bad.
