    The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' track and field team competed twice last week, at the Unity Christian Coed Invitational on April 12 at Northwestern College in Orange City, and at the Spencer Girls' Invitational on April 16 at Spencer. At Unity Christian, the Hawks began the meet with a win in the sprint medley relay. The team of Emily Mutombo, Anna Vander Veen, Abby Otto and Jasmine Lux took first place in a time of 2:01.02.   • Finishing second isn't always a bad thing

    Sometimes the best isn't quite good enough. Case in point – Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's 4x100 relay squad which bettered the Unity Christian Invitational meet record, but didn't win the race. Noah Adams, Kooper Ebel, Dawson Schiphoff and Connor Dodd ran a time of :45.62, which bettered the old meet record. But they had to settle for second place, as Unity Christian ran a time of :43.84 to set a new meet record. Adams, Ebel, Schiphoff and Dodd also finished second in the 4x200 (1:36.46), but lost a...
