    Several changes over the past year have impacted the costs for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Community School District's property and liability insurance coverage.     Everly will be looking a bit more clipped come wintertime. The city council on Monday awarded a bid to David Lux for $20,000 to remove and trim trees in town. Ten trees will be removed at a cost of $10,000, while the rest of the money will go towards trimming overgrowth in the road right-of-way. The work is to be done by Thanksgiving. The issue of semi parking in residential areas was discussed with Clay County Sheriff Chris Raveling. The sheriff’s office recently responded to concerns related to semi parking.     O’Brien County Relay For Life raises $20K The 2021 O’Brien County Relay For Life on Aug. 10 raised $20,671 for the American Cancer Society’s advocacy, education, patient services and research programs. The event was held at Northwest Iowa Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center on the campus of NCC in Sheldon. One of the highlights of the Relay For Life is the luminaria ceremony.
