Mrs. Tierny Rutt has been teaching for 35 years, with her first year of teaching starting as a second and third grade teacher in Casper, Wyo. All 18 community trout ponds now stocked The Iowa Department of Natural Resources released between 1,000 to 2,000 rainbow trout at the last five community trout ponds recently as part of its cool weather trout program that brings trout to areas that cannot support them during the summer. Burn ban lifted in Clay County A burn ban that affected all of Clay County was lifted Oct. 21. It had been in place since Aug. 20 due to dry and hazardous conditions. • Oct. 25, 1945 Work was completed on the enlargement of the Hartley Creamery to the north of the building. Additional equipment necessitated the addition. A unique and beautifully-kept ballot box has recently been donated to the Royal Museum by Betty Kruse and her late husband, Roger. The ballot box was made in the 1860's and utilized in Clay Township.
