    "Light" was a recurring theme in the musical selections performed during the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn fall vocal concert on Oct. 26. The 56-member choir performed "Cantate Domino," "Through Love to Light" and "True Light." Soloists for the final number were Jamie Diaz and Jordan Lux.     A pair of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn vocalists were recently selected to participate in the Opus Honor Choir. Seventh grader Kate Rodriguez was chosen for the 7-8 Grade Opus Honor Choir, while Emery Cammann was picked as an alternate for the 9th Grade Opus Honor Choir. Over 2,400 students were nominated by their directors for 720 positions in the four Opus Honor Choirs. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition.     Students First ESA applications for 2023-24 closed; 18,893 apps OK'd The Iowa Department of Education last week announced that 18,893 Students First education savings accounts (ESAs) were approved by the Sept. 30 program close date.
