    The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls' golf team won its first War Eagle Conference dual meet of the season on April 23, defeating George-Little Rock at Sanborn Golf and Country Club. The Hawks finished with a team score of 235. G-LR only had three players participate in the meet and did not record a team total. Cates was recruited by GVU and will be a catcher on the baseball team.
