First round of Pandemic Porch Portraits snapped in Royal

ide photography project started last Friday night in Royal when citizens took the opportunity to have their personal, family, business or community group photo taken during a night of Pandemic Porch Portraits.

Four local photographers canvassed the town and took pictures for a community photo album. The album will hold the pictures with a paragraph alongside each describing the business, family or organization and their affiliation to Royal, as well as how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected them.

About 50 families and businesses participated in this first round. A second round will be offered soon, with more information on that date to be posted on Royal's television channel 902.

During the pandemic, many are partaking in similar projects either individually or as a collective community. Royal is doing so in order to preserve this rare moment in history as a town and also have a little bit of fun while everyone is still practicing safe social distancing.

Albums will be sold as a fundraiser for the 2025 Royal Quasquicentennial. All citizens and businesses are encouraged to participate. If you are interested in participating in the second round of the Royal Pandemic Porch Portraits, contact Iesha Toft at [email protected].
