Evertek team members celebrated

White, Meyer combine for 62 years of service

Evertek recently celebrated the longevity, talent and tenacity of their General Manager Roxanne White and newly-retired Board Member Bud Meyer.

White has been with Evertek for more than 35 years.

"I was the fourth employee of Evertek when I started as an accountant in 1985," she recalled. "To this day I love accounting, but I also have loved the many opportunities I've had there. I've enjoyed working in many different areas – switching, driving equipment, staffing and more."

White became office manager in the 1990s before taking over the general manager role in 2000. She leads 14 staff in making sure that internet, television and telephone services are functioning for customers in more than 20 counties across northwest Iowa, which is a task she doesn't take lightly.

Recognizing dedicated employees is something Evertek takes much pride in. The company with a small town, family feel takes heart in acknowledging what makes them tick.

Board members are certainly part of that recognition. One of those members, Bud Meyer, recently retired after an impressive 27 years on the board.

Starting his service in 1993, Meyer has served over the years as a director and vice president on the board. White recognized him at the annual meeting May 18 with a plaque and gift certificate for his 27 years of service.

"He joined the board of directors in 1993 and honestly, I think over the years that I have been manager he has only missed one or two board meetings," she said.

Meyer also served as a board member for a period of time on the NET Broadband Board, which is Evertek's partnership with NorthWest REC in Orange City.

"Our board has always been a well-rounded board with many backgrounds, and Bud brought his love for the community to the board and our company," White said. "The board and I appreciate all of his service."
