George Skyler Elsworth-Cole, 24, Spencer

Private memorial services for George Skyler Elsworth-Cole were planned to be held at the Warner Funeral Home in Spencer, with Bud Watts officiating. Honorary bearers were Yovan Tasich, Ryley Tasich, Austin Tasich, Drew Cole, Dalton Cole and Christine Siminsen. Interment is in Riverside Cemetery at Spencer. Warner Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

George Skyler-Elsworth Cole, the son of Jay Cole and Elaine Tasich, was born on Feb. 3, 1996, in Denison. He received his early education at Dunlap and then moved to Spencer where he finished his schooling, graduating from Clay Central/Everly with the Class of 2014.

Following graduation, he worked for Mediacom and Quail Construction in Spencer, then for Tommy Gate in Woodbine. He moved to Westdale where he worked for AT&T as a retail store manager in Cedar Rapids. He was in the process of moving to Spencer when he was involved in an accident. George enjoyed working with computers and fishing. He was also very fond of his Pontiac Firebird.

George passed away at the age of 24 on Friday, May 29, 2020, at the Spencer Hospital following injuries he sustained in a car accident. He was preceded in death by his father, Jay; his grandfather, LeRoy Cole; his great-grandparents: George and Bernice Summerfield and George and Janet Tasich; and his stepsister, Shaleigh Donovan.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Elaine Norgart, of Charter Oak; his paternal grandmother, Deanne Cole, of Mountain Home, Idaho; his maternal grandparents, Dave and Peggy Tasich, of Dunlap; his brother, Austin (Ali) Tasich, of Schleswig, and their children, Ryley James, Coral, Emma Gene, Aaron, Asher and Aven; sisters: Brittni Baker, of Omaha, Neb., and Liberty Norgart, of Perry; three half-brothers: Ren (Jessica) Norgart, of Dunlap, and their children, Emmersyn, Braelynn, Analeigh, Kennidee and Kingston; Cody (Melissa) Norgart, of Spencer, and their children, Cooper and Alivia; and Josh (Elizabeth) Norgart, of Oklahoma; his half-sister, Briena Bennett, of Fort Dodge; his aunts and uncles: Yovan Tasich and Angie, of Dunlap, and their children: Katie Tasich, of Chapin, S.C., and Mary Jane Tasich, of Dunlap; Ryne (Teri) Cole and Brenda (Tim) Stanton, both of Mountain Home, Idaho; Doug Cole, of Enid, Okla.; Jill (Stan) Simonsen, of Runnells; and Chad (Kim), of Windsor Heights; Jay’s significant other, Rhonda Hintz, of Spencer; sister, Leah Eldridge (Drew), of Spencer, and her family, Mercedes, Paxton and Crew; her brother, Mitchell Myers, of Spencer; other relatives and friends.
