The Clay County Sheriff’s Office stopped Richard Green, 61, of Royal, in the 3900 mile of Highway 71 on Aug. 1 at 10:53 p.m.
According to the report, Green was operating a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he was stopped for speed and was then arrested for allegedly operating while intoxicated. He was charged with both offenses.
• Vehicle drops off shoulder
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident that occurred in the 4700 mile of 200th Avenue on July 31 at 8:10 a.m.
The report stated that Elizabeth Johnson, 33, of Spencer, was southbound on 200th Avenue when she lost control of her 2008 Ford Taurus after it dropped onto the shoulder. The vehicle entered the west ditch, continued south, struck an intersection embankment on the north side of 470th Street, crossed the road and reentered the ditch. The Taurus continued for approximately 50 yards before coming to a stop.
Johnson was transported to Spencer Hospital for treatment of possible injuries. Damage to the Taurus was estimated at $6,000. Johnson was cited for Failure to Maintain Control. Spencer Hospital and Bud’s Service assisted at the scene.
• Deer runs into vehicle
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that Diane Marie Cale-Steinbeck, 52, of Emmetsburg, was driving southbound on Highway 59/Roosevelt Avenue when a deer came out of the ditch and struck the side of her vehicle. The incident occurred at 9:26 p.m. on July 24. Damage to the 2014 Dodge Avenger was estimated at $2,000.
