Serving O'Brien & Clay Counties
The Clay Central/Everly school board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 7, to hold a public hearing regarding the sale of the former 7-12 grade building in Everly.
The school board in July agreed to sell the entire property, including all outbuildings, to Guardian Education & Athletic Services for $5,000. The non-profit firm approached the district with plans to transform the facility into an "intermediate college program" geared towards post-secondary students interested in honing both their academic and athletic skills for the next level.
Next week's public hearing is one of the final hurdles to clear before the district can sell the property. The meeting will be held in the elementary school music room at 6:30 p.m.
