Ronald 'Ron' Kauzlarich, 76, Arnolds Park

Ronald 'Ron' Kauzlarich, 76, was born on Aug. 20, 1944, in Knoxville.

Ron passed away suddenly at home on Friday, Oct. 16, 2020. He was married June 6, 1970, to Jane (Hansen) Kauzlarich in Knoxville. They were constant companions and rarely went more than a few hours without checking in with each other.

He graduated from Melcher High School in1962. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State University.

Ron was in the Army reserves for six years. He was a teacher of driver education and a football and wrestling coach in LeMars from 1970 through 1993. After that he was a correctional officer at the Plymouth County Sheriff's office for six years.

He was involved in several community organizations including Dallcher Legion Post 632 of Melcher. His hobbies and loves included everything about being outdoors. He particularly enjoyed hiking, canoeing and horseback riding with his wife, Jane.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper D. Kauzlarich and Margaret (Roberts) Kauzlarich; and his brother, David Lee Kauzlarich. He is survived by his wife, Jane (Hansen) Kauzlarich, whose parents were the late Ingwer and Pat Hansen, of Hartley.

There will be no formal services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
