Pioneers defeat Hinton, lose dual to Warriors
Okoboji/H-M-S split a pair of wrestling duals last Thursday night at Sioux Center. The Pioneers won the non-conference matchup with Hinton (45-31), but were dominated by Sioux Center (69-12) in a dual that counted toward the Siouxland Conference standings.
In action against the Blackhawks, Bryce Dodge won his 160-pound match by fall while Chayton Faulkner and Nick Bronstad claimed wins by forfeit.

Ten members of the Okoboji/H-M-S wrestling team competed in the MOC-Floyd Valley Early Bird junior varsity wrestling tournament on Dec. 7.
Wrestling in the 149-151 pound bracket, Mitchell Meyers lost by fall (2:32) to Spencer Sprock of Central Lyon/George Little Rock; and lost a decision (9-5) in the third place match to Sam Tisher of Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
Bryce Dodge lost to Michael Murra of LeMars by fall (1:21) in the semifinals at 143-145, but came back to pin Matthew Everhart of CL/GLR (0:21) in the third-place match.
Other Pioneers to place were Soraya Hanson, first; Kaitlyn Rouse, second; Alex Koep, fourth; and Tristan Strantz, fourth.
