Sounds of Christmas were heard during the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School Music Department's holiday concert on Sunday, Dec. 13.
The concert band performed "A Wonderful Christmastime," "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" and the traditional "Christmas Sing-a-Long."
Jazz band members treated the audience to "Big Noise from the North Pole," "The Christmas Song" (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) and "Angels We Have Rocked the House." Featured soloists were Lydia Harders on alto saxophone, Olivia Grooters on trombone, Megan Recher on trumpet and Kaley Pearson on piano.
Jazz choir members sang "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" and "That's Christmas to Me," which featured soloists Kylie Jatho, Bryce Dodge and Jasmine Lux.
The concert choir concluded the afternoon with "The Little Drummer Boy," "In the Bleak Midwinter," "All I Want for Christmas is You" with soloist Kylie Jatho, and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" which featured spoken parts by Cheyanne Kruger and Emma Schmillen. Ava Reitsma accompanied the choir on the piano.
