O'Brien County to hold vaccine clinic

All adults 18 years or older eligible

O'Brien County Public Health will hold its first vaccination clinic for the general public on April 6.

As of Wednesday morning, six time slots were still open. Individuals 18 years of age and older that would like to receive the first dose of Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine are eligible to register. The clinic will be held at Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, 301 34th Ave., in Sheldon.

Previous vaccination clinics were open only to individuals in certain qualifying professions and those older than 65. People attending next week's event will be informed when they need to return for their second dose. Visit obriencountyvaccineclinic.as.me/schedule.php to schedule an appointment online. Consent forms will be available at the clinic, and individuals are asked to bring a driver's license or employee ID to their appointment.

O'Brien County Public Health is asking participants to not come early, as space is limited. Masks are required and social distancing will be enforced. Once the shot is administered, participants will be observed for 15 minutes afterwards to monitor for any immediate side effects. Each appointment is expected to last 20-25 minutes.
