Beatrice "Bea" Ann (Wills) Currier, 80, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at Lakes Regional Healthcare in Spirit Lake.
Beatrice Ann Currier was born to Harold and Irene (Magee) Wills in Hartley at the family farm on Dec. 15, 1940. She graduated from Hartley High School in 1959. Soon after graduation she attended Stewart's Beauty School in Sioux City.
While working at Larsen's Beauty Shop in Spirit Lake, she met the love of her life on a blind date, Lee Currier. They wed in Minneapolis, Minn. on July 28, 1962. From this union Ty and twins Troy and Tara were born. Lee and Bea were together for 59 years until Lee passed away from Covid-19 on Dec. 30, 2020.
Bea was the ultimate "busy bee." She enjoyed every task while cherishing everyone she met. Bea took on the head of housekeeping at Village East/West, Berkley Fishing, HyVee, accounting for Lee, fish cleaning, "night crawler" picking, planting flowers and much more. Bea did it all.
Bea loved her Golden Retrievers, duck decoy collecting, and watching the Vikings and Hawkeye games with Lee. Every holiday, birthday and anniversary was very special to Bea. She gave so much of herself to her family, friends, talents and work without complaint.
Bea is survived by her children: Ty (Karen) Currier, of Spirit Lake; Troy (Linda) Currier, of Denison; and Tara (Gene) Hofer, of Bridgewater, S.D .; grandchildren: Nickolas, Carson and Tanner Hofer, and Jenna Currier; brother, Harold (Marlene) Wills, of Hartley; brother-in-law, Robert (Sylvia) Currier, of Florida; and sister-in-law, Mardi Currier, of Spencer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Currier; brother, Larry (Barb) Wills; brother, Robert Wills; and in-laws, Gilbert and Lois Currier.
Per her wishes there will be a private family graveside service when a date has been decided upon at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Arrangements are under the direction of the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
