Steven S. Slater, 64, Everly

Steven Starr Slater, the son of Harry and Martha (Engelkes) Slater, was born on Dec. 27, 1956, in Clifton Heights, Pa. He was raised in Trona, Calif. where he attended school and graduated from Trona High School in 1974. After graduation he entered into the military on June 28, 1974, serving in the U.S. Army. While in the service he was stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 8, 1980. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Massachusetts in Lowell, Mass. from 1989 to 1991.

Steven worked at Dell EMC as a Senior Systems Engineer for over 35 years. Steven lived in New Hampshire and Maryland for many years before moving to Everly within the last year. While living in Everly he was on the board of trustees at the library.

Steven passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters: Jennifer Keslin and her husband, Paul, of Lockport, Ill.; and Karyn LaBranche, of Manchester N.H.; three grandchildren; one brother, Kennett Slater, of California; other relatives and many friends.
