Water fights tonight in downtown Hartley
Hartley residents have a chance to beat the heat tonight (July 8) when the fire department hosts water fights.
Things kick off at 6 p.m. on Central Avenue with the kids’ water fights, which will be followed by the firefighters at 7 p.m. Members of the Hartley Community Pool Campaign will be serving a hotdog meal with chips and a drink for a free will donation.
Everyone is invited to attend.
O’Brien Co. Relay For Life is Aug. 10
The annual O’Brien County Relay For Life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Sheldon High School Track Field.
Teams made up of families, businesses, neighbors or church groups will raise funds for cancer research and a variety of other areas of focus during the event. All cancer survivors from O’Brien County and the area are invited to be a part of the Survivor Lap during the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. Participants may contact Karla Robinet at (712) 540-7372 for information.

Moneta all-school reunion is July 24
Get your reservations in for the Moneta all-school reunion to be held Saturday, July 24, at the Hartley Community Center.

Royal all-school reunion is July 17
The Royal and Clay Central all-school reunion will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 17, at the Royal Community Center. The event coincides with Royal Fun Days.
Fifty-year classes of 1970 and 1971 will be honored.
The reunion is open to the public and reservations are not required. Refreshments will be served with a free will offering accepted.

40-plus units of blood collected in Hartley
Thirty-eight donors registered for the blood drive conducted by LifeServe Blood Center on June 23. The 41 units which were collected will help save over 123 lives.

Regular hours at Royal library
The Royal Public Library is now operating normally. Hours remain the same: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
Food pantry at Hope Lutheran
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.
Al Anon meetings
Al Anon meetings are held at the following locations each week:
Wednesday, 8 p.m., 511 Southmoor, Spencer; Thursday, 8 p.m., Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Royal; Sunday, 7 p.m., Sanford Medical Center, 118 N 7th Ave., Sheldon.
