Kicking off the Royal Fun Day's children's events was the annual Ping Pong Drop sponsored by Toft Electric, Inc. Children went by age category, dodging friends and running after the coveted ping pong balls as they fell from the boom truck and bounced along the street. Prizes were given for balls acquired.

Royal Fun Days kicked off Friday night with the new-to-the-lineup "Stand Up Comedy Live!" comedy night at The Great Hall of Royal. Three comedians hit the stage: Skyler Bolks, Jerry Irby (pictured) and Big John Small.

Just north of Main Street, eager children participated in a plethora of fun and entertaining game like three-legged races, foot races, egg races and more.

Eight teams came out to play in the Royal Fun Days softball tournament. Taking home the title was the Will Smith Trucking team, which beat the CC/E 2011 team in the finals. The winners graciously donated their winnings back to Royal Fun Days to help make next year's celebration possible.

The father-son duo of Todd and Colton Meyer, of Everly and Sheldon, won first place and $100 during the 8th Annual Royal Lion's Club Horseshoe Tournament last Saturday. Fifteen teams competed in the contest. Team "Freddy's" earned third place and was awarded $50, while OffCon (Seth McCarty and Mark Birchard) won second place and $75.

The Royal Fun Days kiddie parade was a well-attended event, with over 17 entrants participating. Costumes ranged from workout girls, dinosaurs, princesses and more. The children paraded past the beautiful lineup of antique cars as Pastor Mark Wilms of Bethlehem Lutheran Church announced the event. Lynn Wilms and Mary Ann Jobst were the event judges. Three winners were named and gifted prizes of chalk or bubble blowers. First place winners were the Woodall Minnie Mouse twins, Callie and Collins; second place were the Cabbage Patch sisters, Marlly and Hadly Forrette (pictured with mom, Amy); and third place was Wonder Woman, London Tewes

Following the morning activities, children headed to the city park to enjoy numerous inflatables, a clown, ice cream and bingo.
