H-M-S lands 3 players on all-War Eagle softball teams

Senior Darby Mastbergen is first-team selection

The 2021 class of senior softball players at Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn is well-represented on the all-War Eagle Conference teams, with three Hawks receiving postseason recognition.

Infielder Darby Mastbergen was named to the first team in her initial selection as an all-conference player. Infielder/pitcher Taya Mason moved up to the WEC second team after having been honorable mention in 2020. Another first-time all-conference pick from H-M-S is infielder Jessica Riedemann, who was honorable mention.

A total of 45 players from 11 teams were named all-conference this year. The number of selections for each team depends on its finish in the conference standings.

• Academic all-conference selections named

Twelve players were recognized as academic all-War Eagle Conference for the 2021 school year. The honorees are seniors who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or above for conference sports.

Elle Mastbergen, of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, is one of the players to receive academic all-conference recognition.
