Everly Fire Department celebrates 100 years

Everly Fire & Rescue's vehicle fleet lined Main Street on Saturday during the organization's centennial celebration.

The Everly Heritage Museum featured a display with the fire department's bunk gear and other protective equipment from years past.

Everly Fire & Rescue's ambulance made an appearance in Saturday afternoon's parade, which featured vehicles from more than 20 area fire departments.

Local author Arla Kintigh was one of three published writers on hand for a book signing Saturday at the Everly Public Library.

Vendors peddled their wares downtown Saturday.

A unique display featuring toy fire trucks from several different areas interested visitors at the Everly Heritage Museum.

The colors head through the parade route, which began on Main Street and wound its way through the residential neighborhood to the east.
