Between the Covers discussing mystery with Iowa ties

Between the Covers will be meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 5 p.m., in the front room of the Hartley Public Library for a discussion of “G&B Detective Agency: The Case of the Missing Tucker,” by R.L. Link.

Author Rollie Link is a retired Ames police officer from the same department as the protagonists, Max Mosbey and Skip Murray, and has had many of the same experiences.

When police officers Max and Skip win the Powerball they decide to quit the force and open a detective agency as a pastime, something they’ve often talked about during long hours spent together in the squad car. They hire Monica, a former stripper, to take phone calls but mainly to keep them from having to take on any cases. Things go as planned until a friend of Max’s wife loses her therapy dog who disappears wearing his Cyclone doggie clothes. It seems like a no-brainer, but things aren’t always what they seem.

Join in a fun discussion in the front room of the library and relive this case with two very different but compatible private eyes.
