Meet a Maverick: Gillian Herrera

Clay Central/Everly's new sixth grade teacher is Mrs. Gillian Herrera. A first-year instructor, Herrera graduated from Wayne State with a degree in Elementary Education with an ESL endorsement. She moved from Omaha to northwest Iowa a year ago and loves the area, as do her three cats and one dog.

Herrera's favorite things include tacos, jellyfish, the color purple, eating the candy Nerds and reading her favorite book, Pride and Prejudice.
