• Vehicle hits ditch embankment
Rebecca Kathleen Morris, 23, of Paullina, was eastbound on 330th Street when she lost control of her vehicle on Dec. 26 at 2 p.m. The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported the 2009 Ford Focus entered the north ditch and stopped facing against an embankment.
Morris complained of pain or injury but was not transported. Damage to the Focus was estimated at $4,000. She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
• Injured in rollover crash
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that Sarah Austin, 63, of Paullina, was westbound on 330th Street at 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 29, when she appears to have failed to stop at the intersection with Roosevelt Avenue. Austin lost control of the 2000 Jeep Cherokee as it hit gravel, left the roadway and rolled at least 1-1/2 times before coming to rest on its top. The report indicates that 330th Street turns into a gravel road just west of the intersection.
Austin was transported by the Sanborn Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center and was later transferred to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $12,000. Austin was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
