• Collide at highway intersection
Two vehicles collided during an accident that occurred on March 15 at 11:55 a.m.
According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle driven by Alec Jeffrey Harmening, 24, of Milford, was stopped at the intersection of Highway 59 and Highway 18. Harmening stated that after he looked both ways and did not see any vehicles approaching, he began using an electronic communication device as he drove into the intersection. His 2020 Chevrolet Express G3500 struck a 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Anton Lawrence Klein, 42, of Hartley, which was eastbound on Highway 18.
Both drivers reported experiencing pain but refused medical attention at the scene. Damage estimates for the Express and Ram were $30,000 and $20,000, respectively. Harmening was cited for Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway and Use of Communication Device.
