• Wind gust causes accident
A wind gust caused a pickup and trailer to leave the road during an accident that occurred on April 13 at 2:59 p.m.
According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado K2500, driven by Luke Ross Kreykes, 34, of Sanborn, was southbound in the 3500 mile of Oriole Avenue. A strong gust of wind caused the small utility trailer pulled by the pickup to sway and come around the vehicle, causing it to enter the west ditch and roll, coming to rest on its wheels. The trailer also rolled and landed on its side near the shoulder.
Kreykes was not injured. Damage was estimated at $17,000.
