Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn graduates are encouraged to appreciate life

The 36 graduates of the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Class of 2022 were reminded during the graduation ceremony on Sunday to live in the spirit of their class motto: "If you have the opportunity to play this game called life, you have to appreciate every moment."
Valedictorian Emily Heneman encouraged her classmates to be hopeful about what is in store for them, but to not forget to appreciate how far they had come.
"The future for every person here is great," she said. "But be sure to slow down and enjoy the moment. And be grateful always."
In a similar vein, Salutatorian Jasmine Lux said the Class of 2022 should celebrate the memories they had made in the past and what they had already accomplished.
As for what follows, she said, "The future is our dreams."
