Daycare fundraising event planned

The Hartley Community Daycare Center has announced its 3rd Annual Love for the Daycare Fundraiser. The event will be held on Saturday, June 18 at the Hartley Community Center.

Fireworks demo is Friday at Solsma’s

Solsma’s Fireworks will host its annual fireworks demo this Friday, June 17. The business is located four miles west of Hartley on Highway 18.

2 specials at Red’s

Red’s Catering in downtown Hartley will be serving hot beef and a salad bar on Wednesday, June 22 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Blood drive will be held June 22

LifeServe Blood Center will conduct a drive in Hartley on Wednesday, June 22. Blood can be donated between 12:30 and 5:30 p.m. at the Hartley Community Center. New donors are especially needed.

Upcoming programs at Hartley library

Hartley Public Library will be hosting Bingo on Tuesday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to join the fun.

A program on local foraging will be held at the library on Saturday, June 25, at 9:30 a.m. The program will be presented by a member of O’Brien County Conservation.

HLC food pantry

Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.

Learn produce basics at workshop

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host “Produce Basics” on Tuesday, June 21, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the 4-H Auditorium at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer. The program is free and open to all.

“Produce Basics” is a short workshop focused on storage, cleaning and preparing fresh produce, both fruits and vegetables, from garden to plate.
