Royal, Everly youth enjoy VBS fun

Last week Okoboji Lutheran Bible Camp's day camp crew headed to Royal's Bethlehem Lutheran Church for a week of Vacation Bible School fun with the congregation's children along with Hope Lutheran Church of Everly's youth.

The week's theme was "Anchored in Hope" with a nautical thread tying the program together. Daily themes included "Anchored In the Creator," "Anchored in the Word" and "Anchored in the Light."

Day camp days were filled with Bible study, story time, crafting, game play and outdoor game play, and lifting their voices in praise.

On Thursday, the final day of VBS, the children, camp counselors and volunteers put on program for parents and guardians. The program included Theme Verse review, skits and songs with a slide show presentation of the week's events. Following the program the children headed outside where children "pied" camp counselors in the face for achieving their goal of donating over 200 canned goods to the Hope Lutheran Church Food Pantry. The children and parents then headed into the Fellowship Hall, where an ice cream sundae bar was enjoyed by all.
