Pedley's Ponderings

Here in Hartley

Kaity and I are finally moved into our new place in Hartley. I say that generally, because a brief glimpse inside our gargage proves we have a lot more moving in to do.

Nonetheless, it’s all here and has been since Sept. 19. We closed on our house in Ocheyedan that day, which finally allowed us to close on the home here. The process sort of dragged on at the end as we had to endure a few hiccups, but in any case, we’re here.

I think this whole situation has dented my life expectancy. I’m excited we’re finally moved, but even more tired. Both Kaity’s back and mine are still hurting from the move and I think they will be for a while. I’m 31 and already too old for this.

The lack of sleep recently has been palpable in more ways than one. Due to the aforementioned back pain, Kaity has been using Bengay cream to alleviate some of the soreness. The tube is red and white, just like the Colgate toothpaste we use. Needless to say I received a surprise one morning when I sleepily grabbed the wrong red and white tube without wearing my glasses. My gums are still burning.

Moving is never fun, but we’re happy to be in the City With a Heart. It’s been a whirlwind these past few months and I’m just looking forward to settling into our new digs.
