Peggy Ellen Brunk passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022 in Omaha, Neb. She was born on Sept. 14, 1930 in Hartley, to William and Alice (Muilenburg) Gathman. She was a registered nurse and a loving mother.
Peggy joined Canton Lutheran Church in 1957 where she taught Sunday school and was the funeral coordinator. She was a past officer for Women's a Glow and in Volunteer Ministry at Good Samaritan in Canton, S.D. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville; sisters: Billie Riedemann, Lois MacDowell, Jean Graves and Patricia Brigham; and brothers: Roger and Robert Gathman.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jane Marie Stopak (Marvin); sons: Kevin Brunk and Scott Brunk (Lisa); grandchildren: Kellie Marie White (Brian), Corey William Stopak (Madison) and Nicholas Brunk; great-grandchildren: Gus and Wes White, and Cooper Stopak; sister, Sandra Hoffman; brothers: Douglas Gatham and Larry Gatham (Theresa); nieces and nephews, family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at Redeemer Free Lutheran Church, 47992 West 5th Street, Canton, South Dakota. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, 47903 283rd Street, at Canton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Redeemer Free Lutheran Church or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
