• Driver seriously injured in rollover
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 9:52 a.m. on Oct. 15, Jewell Lara Flores, 21, of Hull, was westbound in the 4800 mile of 400th Street following her ex-boyfriend. According to witnesses and confirmed by a cell phone video, Flores was driving at a high rate of speed and upon nearing her ex-boyfriend’s vehicle, she suddenly and with no obvious reason veered hard to the left. The 2004 Honda Civic entered the south ditch and rolled four times.
Flores suffered serious/incapacitating injuries and was transported by Hospers Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center. She was later flown to Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Damage to the Civic was listed at $3,500. The report stated that drugs and alcohol are suspected to be factors in the accident, and the investigation is continuing.
