John Frederick Sindt, the son of Norman and Sharon (Blum) Sindt, was born on Nov. 20, 1970, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in Everly where he received his early education. John later moved to Sibley with his mother, where he finished his education and met the love of his life, Suzie Hofkamp, in high school.
John married Suzie on April 20, 1991, in Hartley. After their marriage they lived in Everly. He started working at Verco Seal in Spencer. John later worked at Don’s Pest Control at the lakes. He was currently employed at Engineered Seals Components as a machinist. His coworkers would say his smile lit up the room when he’d show up to work. He brought joy, happiness and laughter to everyone.
John and Suzie had two children: Allister and Amanda. John enjoyed getting Suzie cards for holidays and signing them with his kids. He would always address the anniversary cards, “To the love of my life.” John enjoyed watching NASCAR and racing go-carts where he received trophies. He would spend his free time in the garage repairing small engines and playing video games. Fishing and spending time with friends and family were also things he enjoyed throughout his years. He was a Steelers fan and enjoyed his family being around to watch the Super Bowl game with him.
Becoming a grandpa was one of his happiest memories. When his grandson got older he was happy to start teaching him how to mow and play video games together.
John passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at his home in Everly after a short illness. He was 52 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2001 and father-in-law, Dale Hofkamp, in 1997.
