9 seniors lead H-M-S to second winning season in 3 years
The 2022-23 season was one of ups and downs for a senior-dominated Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn boys’ basketball team.
The Hawks put together a five-game winning streak that included their first-ever victory over Unity Christian. But they also endured a 1-5 stretch in January before winning three of the final four regular season games.
After dominating Alta-Aurelia in the district opener, H-M-S lost to Remsen St. Mary’s to end the season with a record of 12-10. The Hawks finished seventh in the War Eagle Conference standings at 4-6.
