Beverly Ann “Bev” Kramme, only daughter of Elmo L. and Hannah (Senn) Morfitt, was born June 28, 1940 in Harris. She spent her youth around Hartley where she attended school, graduating from Hartley High School with the Class of 1958.
Bev became the bride of Harold Lavern Kramme on Sunday, Oct. 4, 1959, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hartley. Harold and Bev would spend the majority of their married life in rural Hartley, raising their three children and calling it “home” for the next 63 years.
Along with caring for her growing family, Bev was also the bookkeeper for Sorensen’s Farm Drainage in Hartley, a job she enjoyed for several years. She had been a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church as well as Trinity United Church of Christ, both in Hartley.
For entertainment, Bev had belonged to a bowling league and always looked forward to getting together with friends to chat and play cards. In the summer months, camping at the lakes with the whole family created wonderful memories for everybody. When she couldn’t be outside Bev usually had a jigsaw puzzle going, tempting her to search for that elusive piece. However, the puzzle would just have to wait if the Iowa Hawkeyes were playing! While she enjoyed all these things, nothing could compare to precious time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she dearly loved.
In June of 2022, Harold and Bev decided to take life a little easier and moved to an assisted living facility in Sheldon.
Bev passed from this life on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmo and Hannah Morfitt; her brother, Jerry Morfitt; and parents-in-law, Erwin and Mildred Kramme.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold Kramme, of Sheldon; her children: Sheri (John) Drahota, of McGregor, Minn.; Cyndi (Jay) Sandholm and Monte (Angi) Kramme, all of Sheldon; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
