Area high school football players selected to play in the 2023 Iowa Shrine Bowl All-State Classic were introduced during a recognition day event on March 8 at Spencer.

The Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Classic is an annual event that features 92 of Iowa's best high school football players. Players attend camp to prepare for the game as well as learn about the impact they can have on less-fortunate children. The highlight of the week is the Shriners' Children Mini-Camp, when patients from Shriners Children's Hospitals join players to play games and share stories.
Funds raised during the Iowa Shrine Bowl are distributed to Shriners' Children orthopedic hospitals and burn centers in the Midwest and to each center's transportation fund to transport patients to and from hospitals and clinics. As of 2022, nearly $3 million has been raised for Shriners' Children.
