On Tuesday, Clay Central/Everly sixth graders were honored with a "graduation" ceremony on the Royal stage. Parents, guardians, family members, friends, staff and fellow schoolmates attended the festive event.
Sixth grader Jada Carlson delighted the crowd with what she will miss about each student and their beloved sixth grade teacher, Gillian Hicks. The ceremony concluded with CC/E Director of Student Services Michelle Huntress handing out graduation certificates to all before photographs were taken at the end.
"Clay Central/Everly would like to extend sincere congratulations and well wishes to the outgoing Maverick sixth grade class," said Huntress. "We are so proud of each of you and know you will all be amazing leaders and do great things."
CC/E's sixth grade graduation ceremony became a tradition once the district quit offering grades 7-12 following the 2018-19 school year. Now, students enroll elsewhere following the completion of their sixth grade year at CC/E.
