Mastbergen represents H-M-S on boys’ all-conference
One of the most successful seasons for the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn girls’ golf team has resulted in individual honors for three players.
Junior Kinsey Schirmer and sophomore Gracie Knobloch finished sixth and 10th overall among all individuals to qualify for the all-War Eagle Conference first team. Senior Elise Haack was 17th overall and is on the second team.
“It is so awesome to have three girls make all-conference. It is very much deserved,” said Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese.
H-M-S’s only representative on the all-WEC boys’ teams is sophomore Jack Mastbergen. He finished 19th overall and qualified for inclusion on the second team.
All-conference golf teams are determined by the number of points a player earns at each conference meet, and the Top 24 scorers at the conference tourney also earn points. Athletes who finish in the Top 10 overall qualify for the all-conference first team and the next 10 are on the second team.
