William L. Roghair, 88, Mountain Lake, Minn.

William Lee Roghair, 88, of Mountain Lake, Minn., passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at his home in Mountain Lake.

Visitation will be on Saturday, June 10, from 10-11 a.m. at the Missionary Alliance Church in Mountain Lake, with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nik Strom officiating. Interment will be at the Mountain Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Mountain Lake. William "Bill" Lee Roghair, son of Jacob and Mary (Rozeboom) Roghair, was born March 15, 1935 near Sanborn He spent his first five years with his parents on the family farm. After a move to a farm north of Hartley, Bill attended a rural country school. Bill graduated in 1953 from the public school in Hartley where he was active in class plays, basketball, the National Honor Society and FFA. Bill was awarded the American Farmer Degree in 1955.

Bill was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shirley Jaeger, on June 6, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Spencer. They made their home on the farm north of Hartley until 1981 when they moved to Mountain Lake, Minn.

Bill and Shirley were very active at the First Baptist Church in Spencer where he served as deacon, adult Sunday school teacher, church moderator, and pulpit and building committee member. Bill was also active in the community as township assessor, County Extension Council member and was a member of the Bald Eagles. As a part of the Alliance Missionary Church in Mountain Lake, Bill served as church elder, assistant treasurer, pulpit and building committee member, and adult Sunday School teacher. The work of the Lord was Bill's main priority in life.

Bill and Shirley have seven children, 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They love them all dearly and love spending time with them. Bill and Shirley loved to travel, go to plays, attend baseball games, and photography. They also loved the time they spent with their dear friends.

Bill Roghair passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 3, 2023. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Roghair; his children: Sheri Peters, of Rochester, Minn .; Lt. Col. Neil (Danielle) Roghair, of Lantana, Texas; Terry (Sue) Roghair, of Faribault, Minn .; Lee Roghair, of Excelsior, Minn .; Dr. Timothy Roghair, of Clearwater, Minn .; Daniel Roghair, of Excelsior, Minn .; and Rachel (Mitch) Sanden, of Omaha, Neb .; along with his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his infant brother, Jacob; and his brothers: John, Marion and Ronald.
