Brent Edward Tiedemann, son of Wilmer E. and Donna J. (Philiph) Tiedemann, was born Feb. 10, 1970 in Hartley. One of five children, he spent his youth growing up on the family farm in rural Hartley. Helping his dad with chores around the farm was always something Brent had enjoyed doing; those years would forever remain a special time in his life.
He attended school at Sheldon through their Special Education program, graduating from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School with the Class of 1989.
There wasn’t a sport Brent didn’t like. He was particularly interested in football and had notebooks full of football scores and trivia. Not content to just sit by and watch sports, he also participated in Special Olympics events. Being able to be outdoors in the fresh air was another favorite pastime for Brent, especially if he had a fishing pole in his hand. He had also enjoyed working with the Hope Haven crew sorting recycled soda cans.
While his days were rewarding and productive, Brent knew he had limitations. Because of that, frustration and sadness would come and go throughout his entire life. He struggled watching his little sister, cousins, nieces and nephews all grow up, get married and start lives of their own. When his parents and brother died, the reality of death, including his own, would sometimes cause him concern.
God mercifully took Brent home to be with Him in Heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023. He is now enjoying his best life ever. Those waiting there to greet him are his Grandpa and Grandma Philiph, Grandpa and Grandma Tiedemann; his parents, Wilmer and Donna Tiedemann; and his brother, Bruce Tiedemann.
Keeping Brent’s memory close at heart are his siblings: Brian E. (Vicky) Tiedemann and their children, Kathi (Gary) Noble and their children, Karla J. (Keith) Schnurr and their children, and Tiffany Tiedemann and her children; other relatives and friends.
