The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident which occurred at 7:55 a.m. on Sept. 1. The report stated David Michael Bottjen, 18, of Primghar, was making a left turn onto Redwing Ave. from 390th St. and cut the turn short. His 2010 Nissan Altima struck a 2017 Ford Escape driven by Tracy Lynn Fox, 52, of Paullina, which was stopped at the intersection.

• Strikes turning silage wagon
A vehicle attempting to pass struck a silage wagon at 5:11 p.m. on Sept. 1. The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that Lori Ann Maass-Ruba, 59, of Granville, was behind a Roorda silage wagon being pulled by an International 1066 tractor which was northbound on McKinley Avenue. As Maass-Ruba began to pass in a legal passing zone, the tractor and silage wagon began turning left into a field driveway. The driver of the tractor, Aaron Anthony Pohlen, 35, of Fort Dodge, did not see the 2016 Ford Explorer behind the wagon.
According to the report, the tractor and wagon are not equipped with turn signals or warning lights, and the tractor does not have mirrors. A slow moving vehicle sign was on the back of the wagon.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the Explorer was estimated at $4,000. There was no visible damage to the wagon.
