Legion Auxiliary hosting breakfast for vets Friday morning
The Hartley American Legion Auxiliary will hold its annual thank you breakfast for local veterans and active servicemembers on Friday, Nov. 10 from 7:30-9 a.m. Spouses and guests are welcome to attend.
The menu will feature biscuits and sausage gravy, eggs, rolls, coffee and juice.
Fall Festival at St. John’s in May City
St. John’s Lutheran Church in May City will host its annual Fall Festival on Saturday. Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Food distribution at Trinity UCC
The Food Bank of Iowa’s mobile pantry program will be conducted on Wednesday, Nov. 15, starting at 4 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. The program is available free of charge and geared toward individuals in need of food assistance.
Participants are asked to stay in their vehicles and line up on the east side of the parking lot. The food will be brought to you as you drive under the canopy. The church is located at 140 N 5th Ave E.
Mini day camp planned Nov. 27 at Hartley library
ISU Extension and Outreach O’Brien County will be at the Hartley Public Library on Monday, Nov. 27, from 10:30 a.m.-noon. They will have a new presentation for children and youth ages 3-14.

Community Bible study meets Sunday evenings
A community Bible study is held each Sunday at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Hartley Public Library. Please use the east door to enter.

Veterans’ dinner Nov. 12 in Royal
The Royal American Legion Auxiliary is hosting a dinner at noon on Sunday, Nov. 12, for all veterans and their families at the Royal Community Center. Everything is going to be provided, so come and enjoy a time of food and fellowship.
HLC food pantry
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays, 1-5 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food, but masks are required.
