Services planned in Hartley and Sanborn
A member of the Iowa National Guard will provide the keynote address Friday, Nov. 10 during a Veterans Day program at the H-M-S Event Center in Hartley. The service kicks off at 9 a.m., and the community is invited to attend.
Rev. Jordan Helming has served in the Iowa National Guard for over 12 years. The first five were as a cook, and the past seven as a chaplain. He deployed to Iraq for a year in 2020 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
He also serves as the associate pastor at First Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, and as the Hospice Chaplain for Sanford in Sheldon. He lives in Orange City with his wife and three children.
A Veterans Day program will also be held at the H-M-S Middle School in Sanborn on Friday at 10:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend, and guests are asked to enter the building from the south doors.
