Sharon K. Nonneman, 84, Grant City, Mo.

Sharon K. Nonneman, 84, of Grant City, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at the Worth County Convalescent Center in Grant City.

Sharon was born on Nov. 18, 1938 in Hartley. She was the daughter of the late Emil and Lillian (Zaiser) Lux. Sharon graduated from Hartley High School in 1957. In school she loved band and cheerleading. She enjoyed dancing and could often be found kicking up her heels on the dance floor.

Sharon was united in marriage to Dennis Nonneman on Sept. 29, 1957. To this union were born three boys: Regan, Dan and Kory.

In the winter of 1968, she and her family moved from Melvin to Allendale, Mo. where Sharon enjoyed helping the boys on the farm.

Sharon was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Ayr. She also served as a member of the church board.

Sharon worked at various jobs over the years including the school after she retired.

Sharon enjoyed lending a helping hand anywhere help was needed. You could always find her at Allendale helping with the dinners and the rodeo. In her later years Sharon could be found enjoying her time at the Grant City Senior Center playing cards and dominoes. Her strong will and quick wit will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Lillian; husband, Dennis (2001); and a brother, Denton Lux.

Her survivors include sons: Regan (Connie) Nonneman, of Grant City, Mo.; Dan Nonneman, of Hastings, Neb.; and Kory (Ann) Nonneman, of Grant City; four grandsons: Nathan, Dylan, Ryan and Aaron Nonneman; one great-granddaughter, Josey Nonneman; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.

Per her wishes, Sharon was cremated under the care of the Andrews-Hann Funeral Home in Grant City. A celebration of life for Sharon was held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Ayr. Pastor John Rutz officiated. Inurnment was in the Kirk Cemetery at Allendale, Mo.
