Multiple charges pending for man burned in Clay County accident

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reported that Jose Ramon-Arrendondo, 25, of Sioux Rapids, lost control of his vehicle in the 4900 mile of 220th Avenue at 8:45 p.m. on Nov. 16. The vehicle went into the ditch and started on fire.
Ramon-Arrendondo was taken by private vehicle to Spencer Hospital for treatment of burns to his hands. According to the report, several containers of alcohol were found in the vehicle and multiple charges are pending against Ramon-Arrendondo.
• Strikes unoccupied vehicle
Jodi Grant, 51, of Sheldon, was driving north on Country Club Road at 5:37 p.m. on Nov. 20. According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, she did not see an unoccupied 2007 Cadillac Escalade which was legally parked along the curb facing north. The 2016 Dodge Caravan struck the rear of the parked vehicle, causing the airbags to deploy.
Grant complained of pain/injury, but was not transported for treatment. Damage estimates were $20,000 for the Caravan and $10,000 for the Escalade.
