Grace Berberich graduates from UI
Grace Berberich, of Royal, was among the nearly 1,700 undergraduate, graduate and professional students conferred their degrees last month at the University of Iowa.
Berberich was a student in the College of Nursing whose program of study was Nursing. The degree awarded was a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Audit report released for City of Hartley
T.P. Anderson & Company, P.C. has released an audit report for the City of Hartley.
According to the report, the city’s receipts totaled $6,625,798 for the year ended June 30, 2023. Receipts included $544,581 in property tax, $3,963,094 in charges for service, $559,200 in intergovernmental receipts and $267,533 in Local Option Sales Tax.
Disbursements for the year totaled $6,224,336. They included $526,799 in public safety, $319,211 for public works, $306,650 for debt service and $4,515,684 for business-type activities.

Hartley student on NWC Dean’s List
Emma Schmillen, of Hartley, earned a spot on the Academic Dean’s List for the fall 2023 semester at Northwestern College in Orange City.
The Dean’s List is comprised of students who have achieved a semester grade point average of 3.50 or above while carrying a minimum of 12 graded hours. This semester, 459 students qualified for the Dean’s List. Of them, 294 students earned a GPA of 3.75 or higher and are considered Collegiate Scholars.
Schmillen is a freshman majoring in elementary education, and was recognized as a Collegiate Scholar.
Hartley students on ICCC honors lists
Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge recently announced the honors list for the fall semester. Students on the President’s List achieved a 4.0 GPA with a minimum of six credit hours while students on the Dean’s List achieved a 3.5-3.99 GPA with a minimum six credit hours.

ISU announces fall 2023 Dean’s List
More than 10,800 Iowa State University students were recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the fall semester 2023 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
Students from the area are included below.

ILCC fall honors list
Iowa Lakes Community College recently released the fall 2023 honors lists recognizing students who achieved the highest academic standards earning inclusion on the President’s List or Dean’s List.
For the fall 2023 semester, 141 students earned President’s List, an honor achieved by those who recorded a 4.0 GPA, and 263 students made the Dean’s List of students who earned a 3.25 GPA or higher for the semester. Students must also be full-time and enrolled in 12 or more graded credits to be eligible for either list.
