NATIONAL FFA WEEK: 3 H-M-S alumni earn American Degrees

Three Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn alumni last fall recieved the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization.

Olivia Grooters, Emily Sindt and Trey Haag (pictured above, from left to right) were bestowed their degrees during the 2023 National FFA Convention & Expo on Nov. 4, in Indianapolis. Grooters and Sindt graduated from H-M-S High School in 2021, while Haag graduated in 2020.

The American FFA Degree shows an FFA member's dedication to his or her chapter and state FFA association. It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career.

According to the national FFA's criteria, American FFA Degree recipients show promise for the future and have gone above and beyond to achieve excellence. The H-M-S trio was part of a group of 64 from Iowa who received the honor last fall.
