• Vehicle becomes attached to semi-trailer

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident which occurred at 4:57 p.m. on March 22.

The report stated that a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country van driven by Cathy Jo Blair, 73, of Fulda, Minn., was southbound on Highway 60. Her vehicle drifted into the left lane and made contact with the right side of a 2024 Peterbilt driven by Kurtis Lee DeGroot, 39, of Rock Valley. The tractor and empty commodity belt trailer entered the median with Blair’s vehicle still attached. The van then became free and reentered the southbound lanes, coming to rest on the west shoulder of the highway.

Neither driver was injured. Damage estimates were $5,000 to the van and $1,500 to the Peterbilt. Blair was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
