High school students' work featured at show

The artistic talents of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn High School students were on display during the annual art show.

Artwork in a number of media was on display in the student center. The show was held in conjunction with the spring concert and senior recognition on April 30.

• H-M-S vocalists receive top scores for duet

Sophomores Lillian Van Loon and Jordan Lux were featured at the Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn spring concert on April 30. They earned perfect scores for their performance of "Ezekiel's Wheel" at the state solo and ensemble contest on April 6. Lux also earned perfect scores for her solo performance at the contest.

Also featured at the concert were senior Shayla Henderson, who sang "Sunrise, Sunset" with her father, Lo Henderson; and senior trumpet players Aiden Nitzel, Lexi Croatt and Annika Overmire, who performed "A Saint-sational Trio!"

They and seniors Jocelyn Abonce, Isabel Back, Tabatha Cole, Owen Haspels, Cheyanne Kruger, Alexa Reed-Clancy, Brett Stoltz, Ashlynn Struve and Tayler Webster were recognized for their contributions to the music department, and the concert band and choir performed their large group contest selections.
