• Sentenced on theft, abuse charges

Jennifer Lynn Storm, 48, of Primghar, was sentenced to serve concurrent terms in prison on several felony charges.

They stem from an investigation which alleged she had stolen more than $23,000 from 21 residents at The Pride Group, from November 2020 through March 29, 2023. Prosecutors claim that Storm used different techniques to defraud clients of the facility near Primghar, where she worked as an administrative assistant.

Storm was originally charged with 10 counts of dependent adult abuse, a class D felony; theft in the first degree, a class C felony; and ongoing criminal conduct, a class B felony. In a plea agreement, she pleaded guilty in March to one count of theft and two counts of caretaker-dependent adult abuse by exploitation exceeding $100. She was sentenced to five years in prison on the abuse charges and 10 years on the theft charge, to be served concurrently. Storm will be eligible for parole.
